A Mountain Record
A Mountain Record
The Welsh 3000s is a well recognised Mountain Challenge, within which the participant takes on every peak in Wales exceeding 3000 feet in height. The venture takes the trekker over 14 mountains, covering more than 40km and 5,000m in elevation, about two thirds the height of Mount Everest.
In April, Summit Fit will be running it’s first supported Athlete event, in which Summit Fit ambassador and athlete Matt Weighman will take on the Welsh 3000s a massive five times, back to back, running it within an attempted 72 hours; something never before done.
Matt brings a wealth of experience to the event, having previously completed the Marathon Des Sables, and the Yukon Arctic Ultra, as well as several other expeditions around the world; we did in fact first meet Matt on a hike to Everest Base Camp, then again climbing to the summit of Mera Peak in Nepal.

During the event, Matt will be sporting a brand new, yet to be launched range of Summit Fit technical clothing, and will be supported by a team of Summit Fit event organisers, providing accommodation, food and a bucket load of motivation. The event will also be covered by photographers & videographers, producing film and articles of this truly mammoth mountain marathon.
Over the next few weeks we will be releasing more details on the event.
We want our #TeamSummitFit members to get involved! If you are keen to get involved with photography, event support, if you run a blog and want to be in the thick of it for an article, click the link below to get in contact.
